The Acropolis Museum (GreekΜουσείο Ακρόπολης,Mouseio Akropolis) is an archaeological museum focused on the findings of the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Athens. The museum was built to house every artifact found on the rock and on its feet, from the Greek Bronze Age to Roman and Byzantine Greece. It also lies on the archaeological site of Makrygianni and the ruins of a part of Roman and early Byzantine Athens.


It exhibits all the famous findings of the site of the Acropolis.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, colloquially "the Met", located in New York City, is the largest art museum in the United States and among the most visited art museums in the world. Its permanent collection contains more than two million works, divided among seventeen curatorial departments.

Represented in the permanent collection are works of art from classical antiquity and Ancient Egypt, paintings and sculptures from nearly all the European masters, and an extensive collection of American and modern art. The Met also maintains extensive holdings of AfricanAsianOceanic,Byzantine, and Islamic art.[10] The museum is also home to encyclopedic collections of musical instruments, costumes and accessories, and antique weapons and armor from around the world.Several notable interiors, ranging from first-century Rome through modern American design, are permanently installed in the Met's galleries.[12]
The Metropolitan Museum of Art was founded in 1870. The founders included businessmen and financiers, as well as leading artists and thinkers of the day, who wanted to open a museum to bring art and art education to the American people.
As of 2012, the Met occupies about 2,000,000 square feet (190,000 m2). Admission is pay what you wish with a recommendation of $25.

THE LOUVRE MUSEUM IS THE LARGEST MUSEUM OF THE WORLD
It is situated in Paris and it is found upon the remains of the
LOUVRE PALACE which was built in the 12th century by Philip the 2nd. It has been extended many times since then .
It opened as a museum in 1793 for the first time but it has also been restored a number of times.
One can see 380,000 objects and 35,000 works of art at the Louvre.The museum displays a plethora of collections dating back from ancient times (Greek, Roman, Eyptian,Etruscane)
to Renaissance.

The National Museum of Natural History is a natural historymuseum administered by the Smithsonian Institution, located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.United States. With free admission and open doors 364 days a year, it is the third most visited museum in the world, the most visited natural history museum in the world, and the most visited museum (of any type) in North America. Opened in 1910, the museum on the National Mall was one of the first Smithsonian buildings constructed exclusively to hold the national collections and research facilities. The main building has an overall area of 1,320,000 square feet (123,000 m2) with 350,000 square feet (33,000 m2) of exhibition and public space and houses over 1,000 employees.[3]

THE EL PRADO MUSEUM IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT MUSEUMS OF EUROPEAN ART

The Museo del Prado (Spanish pronunciation: [muˈseo ðel ˈpɾaðo]) is the main Spanish national art museum, located in centralMadrid. It features one of the world's finest collections of European art, dating from the 12th century to the early 19th century, based on the former Spanish Royal Collection, and unquestionably the best single collection of Spanish art. Founded as a museum of paintings and sculpture in 1819, it also contains important collections of other types of works. El Prado is one of the most visited sites in the world, and is considered one the greatest museums of art in the world. The numerous works by Francisco de Goya, the single most extensively represented artist, as well as by Diego Velázquez,El GrecoTitianPeter Paul Rubens and Hieronymus Boschare some of the highlights of the collection.

The collection currently comprises around 7,600 paintings, 1,000 sculptures, 4,800 prints and 8,200 drawings, in addition to a large number of other works of art and historic documents. By 2012 the Museum will be displaying about 1,300 works in the main buildings, while around 3,100 works are on temporary loan to various museums and official institutions. The remainder are in storage.The museum received 2.8 million visitors in 2012.
